Here are eight interviews all recounting a story or two of how they made a difference. I'll post one audio file for each reply. The files range from 1-5 minutes in length.

Storytelling to help your ideas stick

I wrote this paper to help leaders in any walk of life recognise just how important it is to find and tell your own stories in order to engage people and inspire them to take action with you. This is doubly important when you are introducing an innovation at your school and you need to support of everyone for it to work.

The Medici Effect

The Medici Effect by Frans Johansson is all about innovation, particularly that type of innovation which occurs when two or more different disciplines, mindsets, ways of doing things, collide and new idea emerges. It seems that… Continue

Influence through storytelling

I'd wish I had created this presentation. Most of what it says educators know and have being putting into practice day in and day out. But it does present the ideas in a memorable way. Let me know what sticks with you after you go through the slides.

The science of presentations

Since we will be seeing lots of presentations at the showcase, I thought I would share some resources in a series of blogs which I have found useful in creating an effective presentation.

Hi Shaun, It is amazing how over the week at various events I have been to the different and powerful innovative stories people have experienced and taken away from the Innovations Showcase. I have heard heaps about different things people saw and how they were going to try these in their own classroom! Nothing like a good story to inspire!

Hi Shaun, it was finally nice to meet you yesterday, I hope the day went well for you. Phillippa and I had a great day and enjoyed the sessions across the day!

Hi Shawn, due to a typo - a silly mistake on my part, I have been locked out of the ning. So I am finally back on board again now and that is another success story of twitter. I complained on twitter about my problem, hoping one of my colleagues there could help me and ning themselves responded and found the problem. Okay, I shall see what I can do as I have contacts who are doing great things. Some of the staff at our school have already responded as they are doing great work as well.

Hi Shawn, great to see you here, I follow your 'storytelling' articles and read with interest the things you are doing to foster innovation in leadership.
There are many stories in my portfolio of leaders doing it for themselves, in all facets of education in which I dabble. We are just beginning a community based storytelling adventure for those affected by the drought called 'Don't mention the Drought'. We believe there will be some great 'stories' about 'storytelling and story-listening' and their impact on our participants in NE Victoria. We have several tried and true strategies for drawing out these stories including 'story circles', however if you have other words of wisdom in this regard we'd be grateful.
