Very good point Anne. I have had one student post something that was not entirely appropriate and all I did was post a reminder about "netiquette" and responsibility and the post was soon gone. I followed it up with a little chat at school with the…

Hi Richard, I have only twice had to speak to students about inappropriate material and it is all part of the learning process. Although I had joint administrative rights with them, I waited until I saw them at school, discussed it with them and wit…

G'day Richard, So far I have only had my students use my blog and create their own shared blog of which I am an administer so that I can filter all posts. The only way that I can think of at this time, to have authorship over the content they post…

I intend to have my students blogging this semester - I would be most interested in your advice. I have asked Anne as well!! I am particularly interested in your 'problems' as I am scared of inappropriate material and I wish to have either an rss li…

Hi Anne, great to see you on here! Thank you all for your advice, I am really excited about next semester! I am working very closely with Mark Kuchel (in fact I live with him!) and we are thinking LMS's, blogs, wikis, shared teachers across schools…

Hi Dominic, It is nearly two years since we started blogging. Your journey is the way I would go. Start blogging yourself, then get a class blog where students contribute just as users. As your confidence increases, start each student off with their…

Thanks guys... I have already played around with globalteacher.org in previous years, but am keen to use it a bit better. I will have to explore globalstudent a bit better also. I have already set my kids a few tasks around discovering whats on the…

If you've got a class with netbooks, then begin by exploring the programs that come built into the computer. Your students will be especially adept at finding great little things you would never have found (just remind them to find a learning-based…

Hi Dominic,

With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.
