Speed Reading

I’m after contact information of a company offering a “Speed Reading” program which we could use with our senior students.  I’d much rather use a company or individual that someone else has used in a school and can recommend, rather than approaching someone ‘cold’.   Contact me via Twitter: @novanews19 or phone: 03 9584 4211.See More

Profile Information

Do you work in the education sector? What is your role?
As the former Head of Library at two Independent Schools in Melbourne, Victoria, I am currently working part-time as a Teacher Librarian in the senior campus of a large independent school, enjoying the chance of taking a back seat in the running of a school library while, in my spare time, exploring cyberspace including the joys of blogging, tweeting and other wonders of Web 2.0 technology.
Describe any innovative projects that you have been involved with (include weblinks if possible)
In 2010, I completed the 12 week VicPLN program mentored by Judith Way, of the School Library Association of Victoria. Completion of this course was a turning point in both my discovery and involvement in cyberspace as well as my career path. Today I am the author of two blogs, one, NovaNews - http://novanews19.wordpress.com/ - begun during this course, is a reflection of my ongoing learning journey while the other, BevsBookBlog - http://bevsbookblog.wordpress.com/ - reflects my passion for literature and young adults. .

Other innovative practices have included the staging of Literary Festivals and Literary Events to entice members of the school community, particularly young adults, to the joys of reading and literature.
