Our Dinner Plain Annexe - School in the Snow

Can you tell us more about this annexe? Does it belong to a school? How often is it used? Who is it used by? Is it used in the summertime as well? It looks such an inviting place.

Bright P-12 College (Hume Region) runs an Annexe in Dinner Plain (just near Mt Hotham) during term 3. This Annexe accommodates children of families that work in the alpine area as well as people that have come for the season so their children, and themselves, can participate in snowsports. Many of the students train and compete in winter sports. The school is housed in a purpose built community centre and caters for prep to year 6. The students come from as far north as Cairns (far north Qld) and come from all over NSW, Vic and WA. We all come together in one big melting pot to learn in a very unique and challenging environment. On our wish list we would love the school to opperate all year round but at the moment it is only a winter school. Hoping in 2010 to link with some other schools so that the students can share experiences.
