I have been following these websites, which review / create iProduct apps for students with Special needs.
Apps for Children with Special Needs.
Apps for Children with Special Needs
Babies with iPads - Early Years Disability Focus
Functional and Social Skills apps from the Conover Company ( many suitable for secondary students)
My favourite apps to use with children at the moment are:
Faces iMake - Which is great for developing basic iPad skills, fine motor practise and developing creativity. Fun!
Pocket Pond - for down time and providing kids with a sense of control.
Dragon - Voice recognition app based on 'Dragon Naturally Speaking'
Mobile Education Tools - Speech and language apps.

Thanks for your info. I look forward to investigating further!
This is off the topic a little but do you know of www.pliese.com.au? A fantastic resource for families and schools of disengaged learners. A Bendigo program, now with links OS including US and Ireland- very exciting. Visit their website- ideal for secondary school students. Mind you, their youngest client is 4.
Really enjoying the connection!
I hadn't heard of it Jacqui.
What an amazing resource !
