Educators' Guide to Innovation
Connecting educators interested in innovation
The site www.musicteachersproject.net has recently been set up for first-year music teachers Australia wide to share their beginning experiences.
It was designed to assist beginning teachers to make the transition from university to their practice in schools more successfully.
It is a text and video based forum, meaning that you can post a video and interact in a practical and personal way with other music teachers.
The site has been funded with the assistance of the University of QLD and the associated study endeavours to reflect on beginning music teachers experiences and the way that they impact on their early success as teachers.
For further information, go to the site or contact the Manager - Dr Julie Ballantyne (j.ballantyne@uq.edu.au) or the site administrator Claire Petherick (c.petherick1@uq.edu.au).

My niece is a first year music teacher working in Berwick, Victoria. She has a Masters degree fro
m the University of Melbourne. I did send her your information that was in our Inspire magazine, but I don't think she has had time to breathe. It is an independent school and she has not had the preparation time allocated to first year teachers in government schools.

Thanks Janice - you could make contact with Claire directly via email, and maybe cc in your niece so they can contact eachother easily... could be a good thing for her to dabble in over the school holidays? Down the track we'd love to hear how she finds the group, if she joins...
